"Scarborough is where the tradition of English seaside holidays began"

25 september 2016 - Scarborough, Verenigd Koninkrijk

So this morning I went to Scarborough, a small town at the east coast of the UK. We went there by coach, which left at 8 in the morning! (I am not that kind of a morning type so that’s really really early for me). When we arrived we had only 5 hours to explore everything which was to be explored in the town of Scarborough.

We started walking down to the harbour, which was just like a 60s movie, with all the red signs and lights all over the place. However, it had a kind of depressing look, because the buildings where not all that well-kept. After we saw the kind-of-pretty harbour, we went to a really old castle thing. It was bombed, seized and then bombed again for a couple of times, but fascinatingly enough there is still something of it standing there. So we walked around a bit and then went to a church where apparently Emily Brontë is buried. After we saw this beautiful church and graveyard, we went to search for some fish and chips. We found this awesome little dinner, run by the sweetest old couple you could ever meet. And of course we got the most amazing fish and chips, although the adorable décor in the diner might have had something to do with it.  When we were finally finished with eating, we went to a geology museum and the art gallery of Scarborough. In which they had the most beautiful painting of John Atkinson Grimshaw called Lights in the harbour, Scarborough.

So all by all I think I did a pretty good job of exploring all there was to be explored in the town of Scarborough.
